I thought that maybe leaving the pub fails the quest and then I get punished some way for it. The poor setup of the task in the pub left me wondering if I'm allowed to even leave the pub, because the other characters said something to the effect that they'd go outside and each would try to solve the pipe problem their own way. Where are the interaction points? 95 % of the time, I just ran around not knowing where to go. But 3D, larger open world brings new problems. Lacking a lint glint, the game really requires 3D form of the good old screen pixel scanning that ruined many a game. It was nowhere more evident than in the stupid picture hunt at the beginning - after I thought I had been meticulous and gone through everything, I had mere 3 of the child's scrawlings. This game seems to suffer from the same problem which plagued the point-and-click adventure games of yore, which is that too often the only way to progress is to rub every item in your inventory against every interaction point and hope that something happens. Still two more books left though, this one was always going to be the set up and I think it did just that. The puzzles were too hard at some points too, it was reminiscent of the rubber duck puzzle, like having to get the plants the goats are eating to knock that guy out even though there was no hint to even lead you in that direction (I spent 30 minutes looking around the pub until giving up and having to look online). You can turn off the balance has shifted thing in the options but not the ".will remember text." I also wish they wouldn't keep telling you this will be remembered, it's like they are trying to let you know just how many things actually make a difference, in reality it's annoying. I thought this book was super short and not a lot happened, the Saga stuff was interesting but as others have said the picture thing was long winded and seemed more like a filler much like the gates in the sewer, what's the deal with them? It was nice to see the first game in such a basic format though, it was really beautiful. Zoe just automatically said "I think I can find my own way", to which the bot replied "Not gonna happen", and I see "THE EYE NEVER FORGETS" pop up.hmm. For example, When Zoe meets the the EYE escort bot, it felt like I should have had a choice to follow it or try to "find my own way", but I didn't get that choice. There were a few times when I thought I might have had a broken game because the dialogue proceeded in a way that suggested that I might get a choice about what to do or say, but then my character Zoe or Kian would say something and no options popped up. Gameplay-wise, I felt like this Book simply played out the results of your decisions in Book 2, but didn't offer many more choices. One of the most interesting tidbits in this Book was in the Interlude: the drawing of the Rolling Man, with a dark ghost-like monster next to him. I suspect Anna has a motive that she has not revealed yet. Why is she around? Why now? It seems the rebels are automatically trusting her. We now know who Anna is, but we don't quite know her purpose. Queenie is definitely something more than a land-lord. The German G-Man character is apparently a good guy. Perhaps the memories of a Dreamer are important that way. I think that just by observing April's death, Zoe saved her. And I think we might have Zoe Castillo to thank for that. I think the Interlude was perhaps a hint that we will see April again. I thought the Interlude was very interesting this time, and it definitely brought back memories of playing TLJ. That's it!
